Lewis Hamilton’s multimillion-dollar car collection explains his decision to chose Ferrari.

The 2024 Formula One season hasn’t even begun yet, but we already know it’s going to be interesting.

Chiefly because Lewis Hamilton will spend the entire year racing for Mercedes, knowing full well he’ll be leaving at the end of the season.

Lewis Hamilton’s shock move to Scuderia Ferrari caught most people by surprise but, when you look at his track record both on and off the track (apologies for the pun), it seemed inevitable.

When it comes to motorsport, Lewis Hamilton and Scuderia Ferrari coming together is a marriage made in Heaven.

Almost inevitable, in a way, because we’re talking about the most successful F1 driver and F1 team respectively.

And there’s something else, too.

With a net worth that’s a hair under $300 million, Lewis Hamilton can afford anything he wants, including cars, of course.

And, surprise surprise, most of his rare and exotic cars are Ferraris.

It’s a long list, and it includes both ‘production’ cars and rare models only Ferrari collectors are allowed to buy.

In theory, anybody with enough money can go out and buy the same Ferrari 599 Aperta that Hamilton owns.

But the same can’t be said about his rare LaFerrari and his even rarer LaFerrari Aperta.

These are cars you have to be invited, or approved, to buy.

Hamilton owns several properties in the US, on both coasts, and the Aperta is the one he loves driving around LA.

Obviously, his car collection comprises a lot of different cars, not just Ferraris, including some classic American icons such as the Shelby Mustang and the Shelby Cobra and at one point even a Nissan GT-R.

However, the other car that is not a Ferrari that probably deserves a mention on the list is his Pagani Zonda.

That’s because this is really is ‘his’ Zonda.

Dubbed the LH 760, this one-off purple Pagani was built specifically for him.

In fact, the ‘LH’ in the name stands for Lewis Hamilton.
