The Pentagon in the coming days will announce the creation of an expanded working group to study unidentified flying objects – UFOs or alien “flying saucers”, a source in the US military department told CNN. According to him, the military are going to appoint as much as the whole Deputy Defense Minister David Norkvist “on skeet”. Whence such an increased interest of Americans in ufology, we found out from a Russian expert.
Systems for collecting information about UFOs have long existed in Russia
The military of all countries has always had an interest in UFOs, since they reflexively perceive any incomprehensible object as a potential enemy. In the United States in 1947, an entire UFO research program was launched. By the beginning of 1970, it was closed, when it became clear that the bulk of the objects that were initially mistaken for the vehicles of alien aliens were in fact either ordinary reconnaissance vehicles or poorly studied natural phenomena in the atmosphere.
Are there services in the Russian army that study UFOs? And why exactly now did the Americans decide to return to the topic of unidentified objects? These questions were answered by “MK” Major General Vladimir Popov, head of the Federal Directorate of Aerospace Search and Rescue under the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, Honored Military Pilot of Russia.
-Today, – said General Popov, – in Russia it has not yet been officially announced that any center for collecting information on UFOs is working. Although it is known that since Soviet times, the Air Force has always had specialists who collected information on unidentified objects. Although we didn’t call it that. The data were summarized simply on the basis of those facts that were not immediately explainable or could not be unambiguously qualified from a military point of view.
There were documents and directives that prescribed: if there are any incomprehensible phenomena in the process of observing the airspace – as a rule, they were associated with special meteorological factors – they must be accurately described and the data sent to the Air Force Headquarters. We did it regularly. The headquarters above also had services that summarized and processed such information.
Why the Americans have suddenly returned to this topic is hard to say for sure. But from time to time this topic always comes up. About a year ago, Trump announced that they were considering such unidentified phenomena and should systematize them. Now, perhaps, this is due either to some political events, from which it would be nice to switch the attention of our citizens and the world community, and at the same time receive some dividends. Say, this is what we discover and study!
Although, I do not exclude that the topic of UFOs gives the American military the opportunity to expand covert intelligence. Hiding behind the study of UFOs, already in the post-war years and especially in the 60-70s of the last century, the Americans conducted active intelligence activities. This is why we have always been wary of UFO claims. As a rule, later it turned out that the “alien apparatus” turned out to be some enormous balloon-probe with all kinds of spy equipment. We were not even ready to talk about such at that time, and the Americans had already launched such devices. We used to shoot them down and thus get information about them.
It is quite possible that the Pentagon, under the guise of “UFO research”, will place secret intelligence facilities somewhere in Norway, Poland, Lithuania, Latvia or Estonia. In short, closer to our borders. I do not know how about UFOs, but the Pentagon would probably not mind watching our new hypersonic missiles.
I don’t think that today we would need to create a UFO structure like the one that the Americans claim. We have worked out the scheme for studying incomprehensible objects in principle. All information of this kind is taken into account by our command posts and duty services. It is fixed and transmitted upward. But how it is further studied there is already a matter not so much of the military as of scientists.
