On February 20, in Sao Paulo, Brazil, Thor, a dog, found himself in another tussle with a porcupine, resulting in him being covered in hundreds of quills, particularly on his face, including his mouth, forehead, nose, ears, and right leg. Sadly, Thor’s owner, Adriano Ber toline, who is currently unemployed, couldn’t afford the veterinary expenses. In a desperate bid for help, he initiated an online appeal.
Thankfully, Dr. Jose Roberto Apolari, a local councilor, came to Thor’s rescue. He not only transported Thor to a veterinary clinic but also contributed to covering the expenses of Thor’s treatment. This was the second time Thor had faced off with a porcupine in a year, and it was not his first encounter with quill injuries. In February 2021, a friend working at a private veterinary clinic had helped him in a similar situation.
Dr. Apolari’s assistance was invaluable, given Adriano’s financial situation and his responsibility to care for his four children. After the successful treatment, Thor was safely returned home. Unfortunately, there is no information available about the condition of the porcupine following the incident.
