Their unique bond blossomed through the Mia Foundation, a New York-based rescue organization dedicated to rehabilitating animals with birth defects and physical limitations.

Herman’s story began in a New York car dealership parking lot, where he sat for days, facing a bleak fate due to a neurological condition hindering his ability to fly. Sue Rogers, from the Mia Foundation, intervened, determined to give Herman a chance at life.

Meanwhile, Lundy battles ‘swimmers syndrome,’ which affects his hind legs due to spinal cord damage. Initially not introduced to each other, a moment of encouragement led Herman to approach Lundy, who embraced their connection instantly.

In an interview with WHEC TV, Sue recounted, “I took Herman out of his playpen and placed him in a dog bed while tending to Lundy. When I put them together, they just looked adorable, so I snapped some pictures and posted them on Facebook. Overnight, it exploded.”

The viral photos spurred an incredible $6,000 in donations, shining a spotlight on the Mia Foundation’s commendable work supporting disabled animals.
