In Stunning MCU Fantasy Fan Art, the Avengers Get Epic New Armor.

Earth’s Mightiest Heroes get a medieval makeover in new stunning piece of fan art, presenting the MCU’s Avengers as high fantasy characters.

The MCU Avengers as medieval heroes in fan art

An epic fan art transports the Marvel Cinematic Universe Avengers to the world of high fantasy, complete with medieval-style looks for each character. Earth’s Mightiest Heroes first formed in the MCU in 2012’s The Avengers, consisting of Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, Black Widow, Hulk and Hawkeye. A new iteration of the team is set to star two Avengers movies in the MCU’s Multiverse Saga — Avengers: The Kang Dynasty and Avengers: Secret Wars — but an exciting fan art makes the case for the saga to include the original six, with a medieval twist.

Artist benmornin shared on Instagram what some of the MCU’s Avengers could look like in a medieval setting.

Avengers: Endgame featured several characters under the MCU team, with the movie marking the final outing for some of Marvel’s most iconic heroes. However, the MCU’s current Multiverse Saga could see the return of Chris Evans’ Captain America, Robert Downey Jr.’s Iron Man and Scarlett Johansson’s Black Widow. As the fan art presents, the multiverse offers exciting possibilities for how these characters could return.

What Exciting Variants Could Appear In The MCU’s Multiverse Saga?

MCU Doctor Strange Variants in Multiverse of Madness

The MCU’s Multiverse Saga is up and running, with different projects presenting interesting paths to how Marvel Studios could handle the return of some of its biggest stars. The first project to really focus on the multiverse was the TV show Loki. The MCU has confirmed many existing Loki variants, some of which look exactly like actor Tom Hiddleston and others who differ greatly, such as the female Loki — Sylvie — and Alligator Loki. The existence of such variants — and other funny ones such as Tour de France Loki and Hulk Loki — present entertaining ideas for the MCU’s future.

Sam Raimi directed Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, a movie that — as its title suggests — heavily dealt with the multiverse and what it means for the MCU’s heroes. The movie introduced audiences to both different versions of Strange — all played by Benedict Cumberbatch — and variants from existing superheroes in the MCU and new ones. The Doctor Strange sequel’s introduction of the Illuminati team was the movie’s most talked about moment, with characters such as John Krasinski’s Reed Richards and Anson Mount’s Black Bolt showing how the MCU’s Multiverse Saga can work.

Based on Loki and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, the MCU might see variants popping around who either are versions of heroes present in the MCU — with the same actors playing them or different ones — as well as variants of heroes in the MCU played by actors from different roles, or maybe even heroes from other universes that have never premiered in the MCU. Based on that, variants such as Cosmic Ghost Rider or Evans’ return as Hydra Captain America and more could appear in the MCU‘s close future.
