Hilary Swank Goes On Dodo Dream Date With Pittie, Who Has Been Single For Two Years

“If I didn’t have five already, we’d have a home for ya!”

When Hilary Swank arrived for her Dodo Dream Date and saw who we were setting her up with, the first words out of her mouth were, “Are you kidding me?!”

Winnie is an adorable 10-year-old pittie who has been searching for a home for two years now. Hilary fell in love with her immediately, and the feeling definitely seemed to be mutual.

“If I didn’t have five already, we’d have a home for ya,” Hilary told Winnie.

Hilary is a mom to five rescue dogs, including Teddy, Sufi, Kai, Dunton and Moon, in addition to 1-year-old twins. After getting to know each other a bit, the pair set off on a hike, something Hilary loves to do with her own dogs every day.

“They’re gonna smell Winnie all over me and think that I was cheating,” Hilary said.

Hilary brought a Polaroid camera along on the date so that she and Winnie could take some shots that her forever family can eventually have as keepsakes. Winnie loved posing for the camera alongside Hilary, and the pair captured some super cute moments.

At one point, Hilary went to grab something for the next activity — and Winnie was very concerned about where her date went, watching down the path for her the whole time.

After Winnie welcomed her date back, the pair set about making a mold of Winnie’s paw print while Hilary shared more details about herself with the pup. While they waited for their project to dry, they headed into town to grab a puppuccino. Hilary went into the coffee shop to grab Winnie her treat — and came out with some people who wanted to meet Winnie and give her love.

“Winnie, you’re winning everyone’s heart,” Hilary said. “I call her Winning Winnie.”

Once Winnie had devoured her treat, the pair decided to relax on a blanket for a while and take a look at the collage they made with their photos and Winnie’s paw print. The collage will be presented to Winnie’s forever family, whomever they may be.

Winnie can join a home with other dogs, with proper introductions, and also does great with older children. Hilary’s own dogs inspired her to start Hilaroo, an organization that pairs abandoned dogs with children who have been given up on to create meaningful connections and help each other heal.

“Only the good life now, I told her,” Hilary said. “I told her, ‘No looking back!’”
