I’ll begin the evaluation by pointing out its anti-Christian sentiment. At the film’s conclusion, Miss Minutes is reset, Renslayer is trapped in the Void world and on the verge of being sucked by Alioth, and He Who Remains is denied the opportunity to resurrect with a haughty sneer. This indicates that TVA’s God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit have all perished.
It is important to note that they are not necessarily malevolent. He Who Remains was created with the intention of stabilizing the multiverse. But doing so entails robbing individuals of their free choice and compelling them to go a predetermined route. Over time, HWR developed a dictatorial mindset and betrayed Miss Minutes as well as Renslayer.
Renslayer is admirable for his commitment to TVA. Even after finding out the truth about the group, she was still determined to uphold the deception and further her own agenda. It is self-centered. Additionally, Miss Minutes was sweet and helpful prior to turning evil. It goes without saying that ambition and power corrupt everyone and everything. They start to lose interest in the injustice and pain that individuals go through.
We get to see an innocent, joyous, fearless, and brave side of HWR through the persona of Victor Timely. After seeing this picture of Timely, Loki and Sylvie came to the conclusion that people are not always as nice or wicked as fate had intended.
Along with the breakdown of the old order came revisions to the Bible. The release of the TVA Handbook’s second edition is depicted at the film’s conclusion.
The idea that Loki is the Savior highlights this anti-Christian sentiment even further. Thor’s first appearance in the MCU was modeled after Jesus, whereas Loki’s was modeled after Lucifer. Fate has long been stressed in Christianity. Someone like Loki/Lucifer could never become a god, much less a hero.
The series’ strength lies in its promotion of free agency without entirely discounting fate and order. Loki’s protection of Sylvie (freedom or death) and TVA (order) is evidence of this. Furthermore, there are statements made by Loki in the MCU and series that indicate that he is aware of his “glorious purpose” even though he is still developing an understanding of it.
“I am Loki of Asgard, and I am burdened with glorious purpose,” Loki declared upon making his first appearance as the major antagonist in The Avengers (2012).
When Mobius first asked Loki a question, he said, “I was born to be king, but I don’t want to be king.” just haven’t yet discovered the throne.
Although Loki formerly believed that existence was a waste of time, he now firmly grasps the branches of time. Once a symbol of death, Loki brought life back to the universe and safeguarded the lives of billions of sentient creatures everywhere he went. Once a man who dreaded isolation, Loki now finds solitude to be peaceful. He feels less responsible when he knows Sylvie and his friends are secure and content.
Loki is now part of the Yggdrasil tree, the center of all life. He was everywhere at all times. He has been a director, narrator and scientist. I knew everything I wanted to know. In other words, he possessed all the characteristics of Almighty God, but he was most admirable when his heart became Perfect.
