HOT NEWS: Reba McEntire first met actor Rex Linn when they both starred in Kenny Rogers’ 1991 TV movie “The Gambler Returns: The Luck of the Draw.” They formed a friendship and stayed in touch through the years. Reba was married twice, first to Charlie Battles and then to Narvel Blackstock. She and Narvel share one son, Shelby. In early 2020, a few years after her divorce from Narvel, Reba reconnected with her old friend Rex. She flew out to California to film an episode of “Young Sheldon,” which Rex also starred in. They ended up going out to dinner with friends and now consider that their first date. Reba was thrilled to see there were tater tots on the menu, prompting Rex to give her the nickname “Tater Tot.” She took to calling him “Sugar Tot,” and they now call themselves “The Tots.” Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Reba and Rex’s relationship was long distance when it started. Rex often sent Reba food while they were apart, including ice cream and steaks. He also supported her after her mother, Jacqueline, passed away in March 2020. Reba and Rex finally reunited further into 2020, and they’ve rarely been apart since. BREAKING NEWS: Thank you! Dolly Parton recently shared how proud she is to have used the royalties from her song “I Will Always Love You” to support the Black community. Dolly revealed that the best thing she ever bought with the money from Whitney Houston’s version of the song was an office complex in Nashville. At first Dolly wrote and recorded the song in 1973 as a farewell to her former partner, Porter Wagoner, but Whitney’s version became a global hit. Dolly chose to invest in a neighborhood that was mostly home to Black families, away from the bustling parts of the city. “I thought, ‘This is a wonderful place for me to be,’” she said. “I bought the whole strip mall and felt it was the perfect place, especially since it was Whitney’s people.” She added, “I’m so happy I spent that money on this complex. I love saying, ‘This is the house that Whitney built.’” Dolly’s decision shows her deep admiration and love for Whitney and the community. Let’s send some love to Dolly!
