Claire entered into a relationship with Dom, only to discover that he had Abby, his Borzoi, as a companion. At their first encounter with this Russian Hunting dog, Claire couldn’t help but think, “This is the quirkiest dog I’ve ever come across.” Abby was practically the size of a horse!
Adapting to each other took some time, but eventually, Claire and Abby formed a deep connection. Later on, the family welcomed Cleo, a Silken Windhound, into their lives. Despite Cleo’s slim and energetic nature, she quickly became the heart of the family.
Cleo had a penchant for testing the boundaries, while Abby was more on the laid-back side. The Silken Windhound would engage in lightning-fast zoomies, romp in the mud, and twirl in circles.
When Cleo first joined the family, they anticipated a harmonious relationship, given the dogs’ different breeds and unique personalities. Indeed, they got along splendidly, but Cleo seemed like a total “space cadet” who paid little attention to Abby.
Their relationship had this entertaining twist, depending on the setting. Outdoors, they adored each other, playing together and going on hikes. Zoomies were their favorite activity. However, inside the house, they each had their own space and rarely interacted.
Unless food was involved, their interactions were quite independent. Abby, having been with Dom for many years, suffered from separation anxiety whenever he left for work. This mischievous pup would sometimes wreak havoc in the apartment, with a particular fondness for swiping bread from the counter and hiding it around. Dom believed that Abby had taught him patience and responsibility. She was the heart and soul of the family, while Cleo provided the comic relief.
