Lil Wayne Honored With Global Impact Award At Pre-Grammy Black Music Collective Event

Earlier this month on February 2nd, Lil Wayne was honored at the Recording Academy Honors, presented by the Black Music Collective during GRAMMY 2023 Weekend in Los Angeles, California.

Inside the Hollywood Palladium, DJ Khaled presented Wayne with a Global Impact Award, while Drake delivered a humorous speech in a pre-taped video.

Lil Wayne, also known as Weezy, gave an emotional speech after accepting the award. He recalled how his mother, Jacida Carter, wanted him to have a child so she wouldn’t feel lonely when he went on long tours with Cash Money Records.

During the event, Wayne received congratulations from Lil Kim and enjoyed live performances from 2 Chainz (performing “Duffle Bag Boy”), Swizz Beatz (performing “Uproar”), and Tyga (performing “A Milli”).

Unsatisfied with his initial award speech, Wayne recorded another video afterward in which he thanked the GRAMMY Awards themselves, Dr. Dre, Missy Elliott, Sylvia Rhone, Deion Sanders, Drake, DJ Khaled, Swizz Beatz, 2 Chainz, Tyga, Busta Rhymes, Spliff Star, Will.I.Am, Rico Love, the fans, and more.

You can check it all out in the clips below. Congratulations once again to Mr. Carter on this amazing achievement!
