You can now see the journey from Florida to space and back again in less than two minutes

Incredible footage shows what it looks like to fly from Earth to space

For anyone ever wondering what the Earth would look like if they travelled into space, there’s now footage showing the incredible journey.

SpaceX, the company owned by Elon Musk, has widely shared its space projects and various missions as it continues its goal to get humankind on Mars.

Now, footage from one of its missions for the Falcon 9 rocket, known as SpaceX Transporter 6, has been shared from its launch in Florida in January 2022.

View the footage here:

The spacecraft lifted off from Cape Canveral Space Force Station in Florida on January 3, 2022.

The official SpaceX website detailed the mission at the time “On Thursday, January 13 at 10:25 a.m. EST, Falcon 9 launched Transporter-3, SpaceX’s third dedicated SmallSat Rideshare Program mission, from Space Launch Complex 40 at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida.

“This was the tenth launch and landing of this Falcon 9 stage booster, which previously supported launch of Crew Demo-2, ANASIS-II, CRS-21, Transporter-1, and five Starlink missions. Following stage separation, SpaceX landed Falcon 9’s first stage on Landing Zone 1 (LZ-1) at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station.”

It added: “On board this launch were 105 commercial and government spacecraft (including CubeSats, microsats, PocketQubes, and orbital transfer vehicles).”

Footage shared on YouTube showing the time lapse journey has wowed space fans as one wrote: “I Never get tired of watching Space X Takeoffs and landings!”

Another added: “Oh man, that’s so cool. Time lapse at its best. Space travel in a box.”

A third shared: “So great, watched it 3 times in a row”.

The journey of the SpaceX rockets has been watched over recent years and while this footage is from 2022, the most recent rockets are still making news.

Musk isn’t one to shy away from publicity or a chance to boast about the successes of his space company, as he shared incredible footage on X of one of his latest rockets, Starship, as it made its arrival to Earth.

The social media clip showed a view from outside the spacecraft as it came back through the Earth’s atmosphere and showed in full HD the impact of burning up on the journey back to Earth.

The footage also shows the mission as it renters the Earth's atmosphere to then complete a successful landing.

The SpaceX team has praised this latest journey as an important step forward as they have previously stated this rocket could prove powerful enough to take humanity to Mars.

“As the most powerful launch system ever developed, Starship will be able to carry up to 100 people on long-duration, interplanetary flights,” the company says.

“Starship will also enable satellite delivery, the development of a Moon base, and point-to-point transport here on Earth.”

To date SpaceX has launched 323 rockets with 287 successful landings
