Gintar Bertauskien, a veterinarian and dog groomer from Kaunas, Lithuania, had desired a Komondor dog since she was a youngster when she got a Christmas postcard with a lovely and massive Komondor.
The woman, who realized her dream and is now the mother of one of only two dogs of this breed in her country, recorded her pet while she was swimming and shared the strange video on her Instagram account, which quickly went viral.
In an interview with Kas Vyksta, Gintar said:
“We sometimes go to the city late at night to avoid all the attention. Hanga is a cautious dog who is wary of strangers. It might get tense if there are a lot of them.”
The Komondor breed has a protective nature, and they are generally quiet dogs. They were designed to defend cattle, and their inclination is to act only if they feel their area has been invaded or if they notice issues. Gintare adores her gigantic pet, which she acquired seven years ago in Hungary. Hanga is a superstar, and she recalls travelling 1,300 kilometers simply to get home. They like going on walks together.
The komondor requires training; they are excellent learners, and because of their temperament, size, and agility, they should be started as pups between the ages of four and eight months.
The coat of this breed of dog is generally short and white fluffy; the dreadlocks features increase with the dog’s maturity, obtaining the form that distinguishes them, which can take up to 6 years; little grooming is necessary to keep the hair in good condition.
Gintar is overjoyed to have Hanga by her side; she likes taking her for walks, and the large dog is highly protective of her and her family.
While the specific details about the dog, such as its breed or background, may remain unknown in the viral video, its joyous swim resonated with countless individuals worldwide. The uplifting nature of the video provided a welcome respite from daily routines and served as a reminder of the simple pleasures and happiness that animals can bring into our lives.
Ultimately, the viral video of the mop-like dog swimming in a lake brought joy, laughter, and a sense of unity to people across the globe, showcasing the powerful impact that a lighthearted and endearing animal moment can have in today’s connected world.
