The Japanese Electric Muscle Car Subaru Sports Mobility Concept

Despite being a stunning design, the Sports Mobility idea is unlikely to influence a future production model.

In a world where crossovers are taking over, the abundance of electric sports car concepts at this year’s Tokyo auto show is a pleasant surprise. Nissan teased a future GT-R, Honda brought back the Prelude moniker, Mazda unveiled the svelte Iconic SP with a rotary range-extender, and Toyota unveiled the angular FT-Se. Not to be outdone, Subaru unveiled their own idea, the muscular Sport Mobility concept (shown below), which has bold blue highlights and boxy wheel arches.

Subaru refrained from disclosing specifics, but did mention that the idea was electron-powered and “evokes the evolution of the Subaru Sport values,” so we can assume the potential powerplant would have some serious punch. With “controlling all four wheels at will,” Subaru implied that the driver possessed some degree of all-wheel drive and rear-wheel steering. Without a direct comparison, it is difficult to assess size, however the Sport Mobility seems reasonably small.

The Sport Mobility design has a powerful appearance because to its boxy fenders and squared-off front end. Similar to the Mini Cooper John Cooper Works GP, the blue elements pop out from behind the gray bodywork to showcase the rectangular front intake, front hood vent, and fenders that sit apart from the body.

The front guard, back guard, side ledges, and air wheel covers are done in fashioned carbon fiber that adds visual moxie, and the thin headlights end with hexagonal lodgings suggestive of the helper lights found on meeting vehicles, a field Subaru is very knowledgeable about. The backside imitates the front with restricted taillights and highlights enlightened “Subaru” badging. Subaru showed one inside photograph that looks shockingly creation prepared, with a rectilinear controlling wheel, a couple of ordinary looking screens, and a lot of actual buttons.

Tragically, the Subaru Sports Versatility’s possibilities at creation are low, yet it shows that Subaru is essentially gauging how to move toward the electric presentation vehicles. With an electric STI model dropping before the decade’s over, maybe a portion of the idea’s styling components could continue into future quick Subarus.
