GOOD NEWS: Oklahoma Sooners star John Mateer quietly used his earnings from last season to pay off his parents’ home mortgage. “My mom used to work double shifts and skip meals so I could afford to attend training camps and 7-on-7 tournaments… I’ve waited years to be able to do this for her,” John shared as he personally handed his parents the documents confirming the home was fully paid off. Fighting back tears of emotion, his mother hugged her son tightly and whispered five heartfelt words: “You’ve made me so proud.”
