Inside MSC’s Explora Journeys, the company’s latest luxury cruise line I just sailed on its inaugural 7-day journey from Copenhagen to Reykjavik; the cost of its subsequent trips can reach US$21,500 per person.

Rich voyagers presently have another jungle gym: Explora Excursions, another extravagance voyage line upheld by one of the world’s biggest delivery organizations, has at last headed out following deferrals in the midst of fire security concerns.

If this name seems familiar, it’s because the massive shipping and logistics company also manages MSC Cruises, a well-known cruise line from Europe that is currently expanding into the US.

However, in contrast to MSC Cruises, which, according to data from vacation Sheet, offers 2023 itineraries sailing for as little as US$40 per day, 2023 sailings on the Explora I will begin at US$2,150 for a three-night vacation.

After a delayed launch due to malfunctioning fire panels, the cruise line’s first ship, the Explora I, eventually set sail on her seven-night inaugural voyage from Copenhagen, Denmark to Reykjavik, Iceland on Wednesday.

The ship will be sailing around Europe, North America, and the Caribbean Sea for the rest of this year.

The aforementioned US$2,150 three-night voyage from Hamburg, Germany to Southhampton, United Kingdom is one of the sailings scheduled for 2023.

… to a staggering US$21,500 per person for a 35-night cruise departing from Hamburg and arriving in New York City.

This is the only vessel for the brand as of now. However, Explora plans to construct a fleet of six opulent ships by 2028.

Let’s look at the drawings of its first ship first, though, before we get too far ahead.

The Explora I features four swimming pools, a wide variety of dining options, bars, and lounges, as well as onboard entertainment and “wellness facilities” like any other cruise ship.

Out of the more than 460 rooms, 371 will be the standard Ocean Terrace and Ocean Grand Terrace Suites offered by Explora.

The inside features a modern bathroom, a walk-in wardrobe with a vanity, a living area, and a bedroom, all designed with a minimalist and clean aesthetic.

Additionally, these suites feature terraces furnished with a dining table and daybeds, providing visitors with a separate outdoor living area.

This opulent ship is a sign of the increased desire for maritime travel among affluent consumers.
